Overview

Brands Reunited (BR) was formed in 2014 to acquire the rights to re-launch heritage beer brands back to the burgeoning craft beer market. In 2015 they launched Home Ales, a once loved East Midlands brand and followed that up May 2016 with Watneys (once the UK’s biggest beer brand) in London and the South East. BR have the rights to launch Federation (North East) and Matthew Brown (North West), and are actively seeking two new licenses to give national coverage.

The company believe that re-launching brands that were once powerful, that still exist in the minds of drinkers of all ages, and still exist through physical branding in hundreds of venues across the country, gives a far greater chance of success than the large number of craft breweries that have launched in recent years. BR do not want to bring back old fashioned beers, the products are all brewed for today’s palate; with a wide variety of tastes and flavours to help drinkers access the craft world through a recognisable brand. BR contract brew to start with & outsource logistics; this keeps capital risk & OH low. Instead, using established routes to market that make it easy for customers to buy the beer; management focus on brand building and selling. Once BR has established a brand in its market, it will invest in a brewery to maximise margin.

This investment will see Brands Reunited complete the takeover of Oldershaws, a brewing partner in the Midlands. It will also enable investment in the site, sales resource in all markets, marketing support and the launch of the next two brands.
