Oliver woolley

Oliver Woolley
CEO & Co-Founder

Oliver is CEO and Co-Founder of ENVESTORS Private Investor Network. Oliver sits on the Board of the UK Crowdfunding Association (UKCFA) and sat on the Board of the UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) from 2006 to 2014. He is also a Member of Court at Imperial College (London). After completing a degree in Finance, Oliver decided not to become an accountant but instead raised equity and bank debt to start Woolleys Healthfoods. The business comprised three retail catering outlets in central London, three organic sausage shops and a factory in the south-east of England, which wholesaled to 200 establishments including Harrods. In 1997 he sold the business to Northern Foods and moved into early-stage investing. Oliver is a keen Chelsea supporter, an enthusiastic cyclist and enjoys cooking for his family (with varying levels of success).

Scott haughton

Scott Haughton
COO & Co-Founder

Since co-founding ENVESTORS in 2004, Scott has led the investment of over £50m in over 100 high growth companies. Having gained his degree in Economics and Business and consequently an MBA, Scott spent 16 years working in senior sales and marketing roles for multi-national blue chip FMCG corporations, including Mars Confectionery and GlaxoSmithKline. Scott then left big corporate life to set up a unique, premium quality family leisure concept, personally securing funding totalling £680,000, which included venture capital backing, business angel investment, bank debt and a DTI Small Firms loan. Outside of work, he now spends most of his time either skiing in France, playing club cricket or actively watching Saracens Rugby Club.

Nick taylor

Nick Taylor
FCA CFO & Co-Founder

Educated at Uppingham School, Nick then took Articles and qualified with Price Waterhouse in London. He has held senior positions with private and public companies, including manufacturer Astell Scientific (Holdings) and listed City based property agent Baker Harris Saunders Plc. He co-founded the Sportscard Credit Card Company which was listed on AIM and later sold to the online bookmaker UK Betting plc, also an established private restaurant group and The London Distillery Company. Nick was a co-founder of Envestors in 2004. In his spare time, he enjoys food and drink, golf, and watching cricket/rugby.

Penny avis

Penny Avis
Non-Executive Director

Penny is a former corporate finance partner and board member of Deloitte, with whom she still retains strong links as chair of the Former Partners Association. There she specialised in due diligence for corporate and private equity acquirers: public to private transactions, hostile takeovers, bid defence, equity and debt listings. She has been the lead partner on over fifty transactions and has experience across the consumer, retail, health and manufacturing business sectors. As well as being a qualified accountant and a member of the Deloitte Academy, Penny is also a volunteer mentor for Girls Out Loud, an organisation that seeks to empower and inspire teenage girls.

Jessica wilson

Jessica Wilson
Investor Relations Director

Jessica graduated from the University of Oxford with an MA in Modern Languages and then completed a graduate training programme at Deloitte Consulting, specialising in financial services. While working at Barclays Wealth and UBS Wealth Management, she managed relationships with international and domestic private clients, as well as financial intermediaries and advisors. In the last few years, Jessica has spent more time with her young family but, ever busy, set up an online retail business, specialising in personalised products for children. She enjoys running and playing netball and has been Investor Relations Director at ENVESTORS since 2014.

Agne pakalniskyte

Agne Pakalniskyte
Senior Investment Manager

Agne graduated from King’s College, London with a degree in the Political Economy of China. She then started her career as a research analyst at Thomson Reuters and Gold Mercury International. Having collaborated on various projects with institutions such as the London Chinese Association, the Lithuanian Embassy and the United Nations, she has successfully honed her analytical skills in hands-on situations such as project management. Agne speaks 5 languages and has a passion for travel and culture.

Jerry plant

Jerry Plant
Sales Operations Director

Jerry joined the Navy straight from school, working operationally as an aircraft engineer for the first half of his career before moving up to the MOD to drive a desk; he was appointed OBE in 2012. He left in 2013 and spent a couple of years working with a boutique management consultancy, advising property clients in the education sector.  After a chat with his old friend Oliver in 2015, Jerry jumped at the chance to help roll out the new ENVESTORS white label funding platform, ENVESTRY, and has been a Director, focusing on the platform, since 2016. Jerry enjoys cycling downhill with the wind behind him and sailing in the sunshine.

Juliet brine

Juliet Brine
Marketing Manager

After graduating from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Management, Juliet started her career working for the High Commission of Canada in New Zealand. She spent 6 wonderful months travelling the world before settling in London, joining ENVESTORS in 2015 as Communications and Events Executive. In 2017 she was promoted to Marketing Manager, a role which also includes her ministry of social affairs, handling all ENVESTORS internal and external events.

Sonal shah

Sonal Shah
Investment Analyst

Sonal graduated with a BSC in Business, Management and Public Policy from Aston University, which included an industrial placement year in commercial finance with Randstad, assisting the management team with financial reporting and strategic planning. She interned in Corporate Finance and Early Stage Investing with Bluebox Corporate Finance and QVentures and joined ENVESTORS in 2017.

Tobias hurdle

Tobias Hurdle
Investment Analyst

Tobias holds a MSc in Applied Economics and Finance from the University of Nottingham and a BSc in Economics from Swansea University.  After graduation, Tobias worked as an intern in the Deals department at Price Waterhouse Coopers, assisting on various buy side acquisitions within the financial services team. Tobias is a keen rugby player and fan – he played for Swansea University 1stXV, Swansea RFC and Worcester Warriors EDPG - and also enjoys cycling in his free time.

Julia sinclair

Julia Sinclair
Operations and Communications Executive

Julia started her career with the Metropolitan Police, staying for four years as Executive Officer in Administration. She then spent 18 years At Rothschild’s Investment Bank within back office operations, the last 10 as Manager, and joined ENVESTORS in 2017. She has one young daughter and is passionate about horse riding.

Victoria maby

Victoria Maby

After spending her early years in Rio, Victoria gained an honours degree in French and Spanish from UCL before starting her career at the Royal Opera House, marketing filmed opera and ballet performances to international broadcasters. From there she joined BBC Worldwide, looking after all licensing within Spain and Portugal. Victoria then took far too many years off, reluctantly raising her three children. She speaks 4 languages, plays Scrabble incessantly and returned to work in 2017, writing the content for the ENVESTORS magazine.

Dan jones

Dan Jones
Business Development Executive

Dan graduated from Exeter University with a First in Business Economics in 2016. In 2015, he founded a company called The Three Musketeers Investments with his two brothers, producing their own due diligence on Australian and UK capital equities and investing their personal income into promising start-ups. In 2017, he founded Brightblock Investments, a cryptocurrency, portfolio management company that reached £150,000 AUM, effectively trading and storing for investors interested in Bitcoins. In his spare time, Dan enjoys DJing, travelling, football, rugby and chess.

Doris zhang

Doris Zhang
Investment Manager, China

Doris has lived in the UK for a decade and gained an MA in Political Communications at the University of Leeds, where she then went on to teach Advanced Communication Studies for four years. A huge fan of the theatre, Doris was part of the team that successfully brought War Horse to the National Theatre of China. As an independent producer, she brought Chinese performers to the Edinburgh Festival: in 2014, they won the award for the Best Asian Show. In her spare time, aside from going to the theatre, Doris likes swimming and travelling.
